Our new team has arrived in China! In the last month our team members have been busy with getting Visas, packing, last-minute details, and saying goodbye to family and friends. Now they are busy being introduced to new people, new foods, pushing through jet lag, learning their way around the city, and settling into their home for at least the next two years. After months of preparation, they are excited to finally be there!
Here is an excerpt from a letter sent last weekend from JP, one of the new team members:
“Greetings from China! I have been here for a week now and it has been amazing! I've been very grateful for the things I learned this week. I've been able to meet quite a few local friends from my city and their zeal for Life is humbling. It has made me realize how passionless I am for living Life. I can't wait to build better relationships with them in the future. I suspect that they will be more of a blessing to me than I am to them, but either way I'm excited.”
Our team is spending this week in TESL training, which they will put into practice the next two weeks in an English camp setting, teaching conversational English to college students who want extra training this summer. This will be great practice for the teachers before they begin their fall semester.
