We will be teaching again this summer at English summer camp and we’ve already started promoting it at different schools. Rick and I helped with a promotion party this past week and met lots of new students. We are hoping for 200 students at camp and we have three more weeks of serious promotion. We would love to see many from our school come. Rick has three boys that are interested so we’re really hoping they come.
We have fairly recently discovered a new pizza place that is just down the street from us. It is actually owned by a Chinese brother and he makes the best pizza. It’s better than some American pizzas. So, we’ve been going there a lot and have been bringing our students there. They love it! We took some of my boys that I taught last semester there this past Friday, and it was the first time they had ever eaten pizza. They seemed to really enjoy it. It was good to catch up with them.
I had a chocolate chip cookie baking party this past Saturday with three of my girls. It was the day that it was supposed to be nine and I wasn’t sure how that was going to work in my little kitchen so only having three actually worked out well. They got quite creative with their cookies. They didn’t want to just drop little spoonfuls onto the cookie sheet like I showed them. They wanted to make designs. So, they made arrows, hearts, stars, faces, cherries, apples, and so on. Unfortunately as they baked they kind of lost their shape, but they still had fun. We also played games and watched a movie. I was glad that they were able to come over and get away from campus.
