It feels like I have been here a lot longer than one week.  I guess moving to a foreign country will do that to you!  :)

This week we have been training so the majority of what I have been doing is trying to be a sponge...trying to absorb as much information as possible.  I sincerely desire to be an effective teacher.  I have received my class schedule for the week of English camp and I will be teaching 7 times. Three of those I have to develop my own lesson so my topics are going to be weddings, Christmas, and job interviews.  The other lessons are from a book and most of the planning has been done already.

I haven't been able to explore too much...and I don't really want to do that on my own yet.  I have zero command of the language right now!  I have busted out my language learning CDs and am going to try and download them to the ipod that was so graciously given to me.  Hopefully some of the tones will sink into my brain better now that I am here and hearing the language more often.

Last night we went walking to a store near our campus.  In front of one of the buildings, a group, made up of older women, performed what we call a fan dance.  I keep forgetting my camera but one of these nights I want to film it.  It is pretty fun to watch.  The ladies always try to get us to do it with them and I want to, but I don't want to do it until I have my camera so someone could take a picture of me!  :)  My understanding is that it is their form of exercise.
