The ETA team helps provide strength, support, and accountability. It also offers a network of teaching experience and resources from which to draw. Furthermore, the ETA team supplies leadership and continuity to members as they move in and out of their foreign contexts.
Serving together in a common cause forges a family relationship that can meet the personal needs of its members. In addition, our "family" is a venue for simply living life together—whether by sharing meals, enjoying a common interest or sport, traveling, or encouraging one another.
Since teaching in Asia means living there, our family extends into the Asian community of students, fellow teachers, and friends. ETA’s intent is not to change Asia through foreign involvement, but rather to learn about and contribute to the personal development of the people in the host country. This involves observing basic customs, learning the language, and participating in different cultural events.
