Many universities regularly ask for more of our teachers because they are well prepared to effectively instruct, reinforce, and manage students’ English learning. While teaching is not an end in itself, it is the primary venue we have to establish relationships which can blossom outside the classroom. How our teachers prepare for lessons, how they operate in the classroom, and how they listen to their students provide ample opportunities to build on those relationships. When students see that our teachers care enough not to waste their time in class, then they will trust them not to waste their time outside of class. When there is commitment, there will be a connection.
