As for my teaching, it's great this year! Third year's the charm, I guess. I'm able to reuse some lesson plans, I already know most of my students, and the schedule and logistics are familiar. I'm teaching oral English and writing to 60 junior English majors and 20 grad students. On Saturdays, small groups of them come over for movie nights and English discussions that usually drift into eternally significant topics. As our talk about the movie wound down one evening, a girl asked, "Can we talk about the purpose of life now? Because I really don't know why I am here. I don't know what I am living for. Susan, could you tell us first what you think is the purpose of life?" THESE are the questions I love!
